WHO AM I?

Where did I get the idea for the High Five Project? During my career in law enforcement, quite often people came to the police station asking for money to take a taxi or bus to get home or sometimes for food. They always promised to pay the money back. At times, police officers gave them money out of their own pockets, however, too often these people in need were turned away.
One day I decided to put five dollars from every paycheck into an envelope that was maintained at the police station and could be used for those seeking assistance. With those funds from my small contribution twice per month, people in need were consistently able to get the help they sought. Five dollars per paycheck came out to about .32 cents per day.
It is from that modest effort that the High Five Project launched. I ask that you “High Five” us with a monthly or bimonthly donation of just $5.00 to help the people in our community. Your small donation can have a positive impact on someone’s life. All donations go directly to those in need.
Thank you and Bless you for your generosity.
